Mapped to LSAG & CLC enhanced due diligence

Every crypto deposit,
traced to its source.

ClearSource writes an independent source-of-funds report for property purchases funded with crypto. We trace the coins, screen every wallet and reconcile the money to the bank statement, so the file stands up to enhanced due diligence.

Crypto money is treated like cash. Most files can’t show where it came from.

The CLC expects enhanced due diligence on crypto-funded purchases. An exchange screenshot doesn’t show how the coins were bought, where they moved, or whether they touched a sanctioned wallet.

18%

of files in the SRA’s 2024–25 review didn’t properly scrutinise source of funds or wealth.

11%

of files in the same review had no source-of-funds check at all.

48 hrs

from your client’s documents to a signed ClearSource report.

One report for everyone on the transaction.

The same evidence answers the conveyancer’s EDD questions, the lender’s underwriting check and the broker’s deposit query.

Close the EDD file with evidence, not screenshots.

The report answers the enhanced due diligence questions for crypto-derived funds, and every answer points to the document behind it.

  • Mapped to the LSAG and CLC EDD questions
  • Analyst-signed PDF, ready for the file
  • Can be billed to the client as a disbursement

Get crypto-funded deposits through underwriting.

Lenders want to see where a deposit came from before they’ll move. Send them one report instead of a folder of exchange screenshots.

You already hold the transaction history. Refer the client and we turn it into a source-of-funds report the conveyancer can use in their own checks.

UK GDPR. We act as your processor under a data processing agreement signed before we receive any client data.

No keys, ever

We only use public wallet addresses and exports. We never ask for seed phrases, private keys or exchange logins.

Encryption

Retention

Independence

We report what the evidence shows. The firm keeps its own risk assessment; the report is an input to it, not a replacement.

Questions firms ask.

Anything else, ask us on a call.

Does this replace our own due diligence?

No. Under the Money Laundering Regulations your firm keeps responsibility for its own risk assessment. The report gives you the evidence and the analysis to make that assessment properly.

What does the client need to provide?

Exchange transaction exports, the public addresses of any personal wallets, and bank statements covering the purchases and the final transfer. We send them a checklist and a secure upload link.

What if the trail has gaps?

We list every gap on the first page, say what evidence would close it, and ask the client for it before we finalise. We never paper over a gap.

Which coins and chains do you cover?

Bitcoin, Ethereum and the major EVM chains, plus any exchange that provides a transaction export. Unusual assets are quoted as complex cases.

Who pays, the firm or the buyer?

Either. Most firms pass it on as a disbursement, the same way they handle search fees.
